Chalet saga

I went for a 3D2N chalet at East Coast Park (ECP) last weekend with my sis fake Faye Wong (because the after effect of her sun-tanned was like the same makeup as faye wong) and the incarnation of Mud Buddha (which his posture really look like one).

I thought it will be a promising weekends for all of us and I was looking forward for it but I was such a disappointment when I step into the chalet. I heard that they owner was renovating the chalets some time back but in actual fact, only some part of the rooms were renovated the rest of the rooms were intact. Meanwhile, microwave oven and the jar for boiling water was removed and needed to be rented.

Just outside our chalet room E04, was a malodorous area which I think it may be from the rubbish bin and from the family from room E05. As we saw them having their bags packed with raw foods with dripping of their stinky de-frosted water. Worst of all, they just poured the stinky de-frosted water into the common drain when they start barbecuing. Such in-considerate people should not be living on this earth. They are part of the cause for our climate change… they are such a bastard pig family…

But there is 1 more thing that I was not happy with is the air-conditioning. Just one glance, you will know that it had never ever been serviced before. The air-con is full of dust and you will never feel cooling even you adjust the temperature to 16 degrees with full fan speed. At night around 10pm onwards, xiao qiang (cockroaches) and their families and friends were out for patrolling…lurking around don’t know what the fuck are they doing… think they just want to terrify the people staying there and show off that who are the boss in that room which give me an experience of living in a rubbish chute. On the 2nd night I thought fake faye wong was invited to held a concert at their bugs world lol as she was MIA on the 2nd night... As for myself worst off, I thought it was 12pm noon time and was late to check out but actually it was only 12 midnight after Mud Buddha enlighten me plus I look outside of the window and realized that it was still night time...

Bloody hell, what kind of chalet and servicing is the owner is providing?

Mud Buddha rented the barbeque pit for 2 nights from the receptionist and you think what, the very next day morning receptionist sent her staff to collect the pit back in the next day as the staff said we only rented for 1 night. Until our Mud Buddha was fired up (I can see from his face, flames in his eyes) and he went to question receptionist with the evident (receipt) that we booked the pit for 2 days. Then she clarified that it was a misunderstanding… what kind of misunderstanding is that? Intentionally or unintentionally but doing it on purpose. But I personally think that the receptionist was terrified when she saw our Mud Buddha was on fire… hehe…she afraid Mud Buddha will strike her with the fist of thousand Buddha…

Same question again… What kind of service is this? Thought Singapore is aiming and keep improving our servicing standard? I doubt it so with this kind of servicing around.

About the food, I was supposed to meet up with my sis the fake faye wong and my buddy the Mud Buddha to purchase the food for barbeque for the following 2 nights at the chalet but I was called up to work till 9pm and so, was not able to join them. I think it was also my mistake that I did not convey my message clearly and they bought the food enough for 6 people. I was nagging at both of them until Mud Buddha really pissed off as I can see… but I really mean no offense… just that I am a person who don’t like to waste food until the last day of the chalet we wasted some of the food… But I appreciate both of them for the effort they put in.

Steamboat shock...

Yesterday my friend and I went to have Steamboat buffet situated across Tan Quee Lan Street and Liang Seah Street... actually this restaurant we went is just situated at the corner of Liang Seah Street with big red logo 天X火锅 and it state $16 per pax. This is my first time having steamboat there as my friend wants to dine in a place where there is air-conditioned as the other 火锅 restaurants are opened space.

The very first thing we went in, the male waiter was very helpful but my first impression of that restaurant is a-bit dirty and oily. Then the waiter explains to us about the cost of the buffet which is $16 per pax with free flow of drinks without additional charges. Ok, we decided to go in and sit down at a corner and then the waiter told us to go ahead and take our food for the steamboat.

Here come the interesting part…

While my friend was still taking his food and I had already took mine and seated back at the table, the waiter came to me and told me that he wants to collect the payment first and he start saying that each pax is $16 but that day is a weekend consider a holiday so there will be an addition charge of $2 for each pax which means each of us need to pay $16 + $2 + $1.20 (for the wet tissues) = $19.20 per pax.

Then my blood boils, first of all, the selective of food was so limited and not very fresh too. Some-more he wants to collect the payment first even before we start eating but already in the process of cooking the food… so I told him to come back later and collect, I just don’t want to pay first.

Worst case scenario, while I was taking my food for the second and third round, what the heck, I saw cockroaches marching pass the floor, on the plates and even across the food itself… Can you imagine that while you were taking the food and the cockroaches march pass the food that you want to eat? I was so pissed off and went back telling my friend what I had seen… he was shocked and unhappy too, and therefore we decide to go off.

We looked for the owner and she collects $16 + $1.20 (for the wet tissues) = $17.20 from us without the so-called weekend charge because there is no weekend charges at all. I swear that I will never walk into that restaurant again. If my friend and I suffer from any food poisoning I will definitely report to CASE and police. By the way I don’t know how come they are able to get their business license.

Birds and Fishes Liberation at Kota Tinggi in Johor, Malaysia

Sunday 20th September 2009, early in the morning about 7.45 am, my friend and I met up at Clementi with the other group of people which are also going to Kota Tinggi in Johor, Malaysia for a Buddhism event called “Birds and Fishes Liberation”. This is a group of people which consist of more then 120 people including 3 Sri Lanka monks.

It took us about 2.5 hours from Singapore to this remote temple called 陈圣大王公庙 in Kota Tinggi. Actually there are 2 temple, 陈圣大王公庙 is the main temple which is a Taoism temple and the other temple is a Buddhism temple. Both temples are situated along at the bank of a river.

Then people start to set up the rituals at the Buddhist temple and start charting and praying, whereas my friend and I took a hike around that area (hee-hee) but sad to say, there isn't any thing to see or explore... everywhere are just mud roads, palms trees and debris/rubbish.

After the chanting, the liberation of birds and fishes started... as I know of in this event, they are releasing 200 small birds and about 9900 catfishes into the river. Everyone was helping out including myself by carrying the fishes from the 3 lorries to the river and release them into the water.

After this event, we have a-bit of time to spare before coming back to Singapore so went to visit a local small fruit farm, a shop that sells moon-cakes and our final destination is where we had our diner, a vegetarian restaurant.

At the end of the trip when we reached Singapore and back to Clementi is about 9 pm at night.

It was a eye opening trip for me as this is my first time involving in this kind of event. Although it was an interesting trip , I did not have the chance to visit the famous Kota Tinggi waterfall... maybe next time...

仙剑奇侠传 and 仙剑奇侠传3

This was the first 仙剑 series I watched many years back. in 2005. It was such a hit back then. Nice show with many touching scenes. This show was released on 2005 with 38 episodes.
There are few main characters... 胡歌 as 李逍遥 / 刘亦菲 as 赵灵儿 / 安以轩 as 林月如 / 刘品言 as 阿奴.

Recently 仙剑3 or so called 仙剑奇侠传之灵珠神剑 was recently released on June 2009 with 37 episodes. It was an another hit for the series which did not disappoint the die-hard fans of 仙剑 series. For this new series, I used 2 days 1 night to finish watching the drama continuously non stop/rest which consist of about 40 hours. And this series had more touching scenes than the previous series.
The main characters are... 胡歌 as 景天 / 刘诗诗 as 龙葵 / 唐嫣 as 紫萱 / 杨幂 as 唐雪见 / 霍建华 as 徐长卿

I like the role 龙葵 which is 景天 sister 1000 years ago... She was so pure, innocent and sweet...she waited for 1000 years just to reunion with her brother. During the 1000 years, she went thru unimaginable hardships but in the end she still died for the sake for her brother and be able to stay with her brother was her only wish... A-lot of sad and very touching scenes... I really encourage people to watch this show, because it will not disappoint you... definitely.

Saw someone caught a big fish at jetty

The weather for yesterday was a nice day for fishing. My friend and I with my dad went to Bedok Jetty for fishing in the afternoon around 2.30 pm.

At around 4 pm, someone at the other end of the jetty shout out "tio liao"... then I saw a big fish jumped out of the water surface while he was retrieving his line... by the time the guy finally pulled up the big fish, it was 30 minutes later.

The fish had a name called Talang Queenfish aka Sam Poh Gong. And this one is 2.5ft long.
Heard that this fish is good at fighting but most local Chinese do not eat this fish...

Yesterday my dad and I, together with my another friend went fishing in the afternoon.
It was such a hot day in that afternoon without any winds.

Although the tide is quite high but the current is not strong. Anyway we still do catch some fishes but small...

Cycling to Har Par Villa and Labrador Park

Yesterday my primary school buddy and I went for an afternoon cycling from Boon Lay (my buddy place) and Bukit Batok (myself) to Har Par Villa aka Tiger Balm Gardens and Labrador Park.

Har Par Villa is located at 262 Pasir Panjang Road and Labrador Park is located along Labrador Villa Road off Pasir Panjang Road.

The route we took was from Commonwealth Avenue West, Clementi Avenue 2, West Coast Road, Pasir Pangjang Road, Labrador Villa Road and Port Road to reach our both destination one after another. And we cycled back in the evening time.

One bloody thing that we encounter was that we was nearly been hit by few cars and a bus along the way by those bloody asshole bastard drivers. It is our right of way but they just want to cut thru us like if late for one second they will die. I cursed these bloody asshole bastards drivers.

Okay, let’s talk a-bit of history about Har Par Villa and Labrador Park.

Har Par Villa was built in 1937 by the entrepreneurial and charismatic Aw Boon Haw for his brother Boon Par, which is the quintessential house of Chinese folklore such as the “Ten Courts of Hell” which featuring the ten steps of judgment before reincarnation and twenty-five clusters of original statues and figurines replicate chinese mythology characters such as the monkey god, nerzha and other more.

Labrador Park’s used to be a point led the British Army to identify as a defense site to protect the entrance to the harbours of Singapore in 1843. But now, it is an oasis of tranquility and natural wonder offers a picturesque view of the sea.

Yesterday I went to East Coast Park with my dad for fishing but the when I reached there I realized that the jetty was under maintainces…WTF lol…

But since we are at East Coast Park, we took a walk along the walkway from the jetty to the MacDonald watching pretty gals and enjoy the scenery…this picture above is taken during sunset time. Nice rite?

Zard (ザード) was a Jpop group lead by vocalist Izumi Sakai.

She also wrote songs and lyrics for other artists and herself. Some of her singles were used in anime, such as Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball GT and Detective Conan. In 1995, Slam Dunk theme ‘My Friend’ was a hit.

Izumi Sakai died on May 27, 2007 at age 40 in Keio University Hospital in Tokyo. She was admitted into the hospital in June 2006 after she had discovered that she had cervical cancer and had the tumor removed. However in April 2007, the cancer cells spread to her lungs, resulting her to re-admittance into the hospital.

According to the hospital, she took her daily walks every morning.

During her walk on May 26, she accidentally fell from the stairs and was discovered at around 5:00 a.m. JST in the next morning. She was then sent to the emergency room but unfortunately it was too late.

Rumors said that the she committed suicide which her management strongly denied.

After the praying, I went to Chinatown and Central for window shopping heehee…

Fate/stay night (フェイト/ステイナイト) is a japanese PC game that created by Type-Moon / Geneon Entertainment which was originally released on January 30, 2004 and later adapted into an 24 episodes animation and aired between January 6, 2006, through June 16, 2006.

The animation storyline follows mainly the Fate’s scenario but it also show parts of the other 2 scenarios as well.

Fate/stay night chronicles a two-week period in the life of Shiro Emiya, an amateur mechanic who attends Homurabara Gakuen in Fuyuki City. But 10 years ago, while he was a kid, he was caught in a massive fire hazard that incinerated his parents and consumed a large portion of the city where he lived in, and as he was about to die, an enigmatic man Kiritsugu Emiya discovered and treated him and later adopted him.

One moonlit night, Kiritsugu and Shiro had a conversation in their house, Kiritsugu revealed that he was actually a mage who failed his life ambition as to becoming a "Hero of Justice" a guardian of mankind who could protect the weak and innocent. Touched by Kiritsugu's conviction, Shiro affirmed to his foster father that he intends to devote his life to achieving that distant ideal, much to Kiritsugu's chagrin.

Kiritsugu warns him that the life of a sorcerer is one that leads to destruction, but if he is truly set on benefiting people, he should apply his knowledge in secret and hone his craft in private and thus he was taught the ‘tracing’ sorcery but proven to be talentless in almost all the fundamental sorceries disciplines. Not long, Kiritsugu died.

Fuyuki City is the setting for a secret and violent war among competing magi. And for the past two centuries, seven sorcerers had gathered and engaged in a Battle Royale, each gambling their own life to obtain the Holy Grail, a legendary chalice that capable of granting wishes.

Each of the sorcerers, better known as Masters, is aided by one of the seven summoned spiritual familiar spirit known as Servants, who are the reincarnations of the legendary souls from all across time. These resurrected Epic Spirits possessed super-human characteristics and wielded powerful artifacts or abilities called Noble Phantasms.

A Noble Phantasm's hidden abilities may be released by invoking the Servant true name, but casual brandishing of a Noble Phantasm is normally best avoided, as for symbolic Noble Phantasms usually reveals the Servant's identity, diminishing that Servant's competitive advantages. Specific legends may be summoned with the aid of catalysts, which are artifacts, ideas, or experiences similar or of value to the desired Servant.

Only one Servant can be summoned in each war from one of seven classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, Assassin, and Caster. As only astral entities are physically capable of retrieving the Holy Grail, Mastesr and Servants are forced to cooperate. Masters control Servants with 3 ‘Command Mantra’ which crystallized miracles issued by the Holy Grail that manifested on a Master's body. When activated, ‘Command Mantra’ permits a Servant to accomplish an incredible feat, or alternatively provide Masters with the authority to issue an irrevocable and absolute order to the Servant. When all three ‘Command Mantras’ are used up, Servants are no longer obliged to serve their Masters, and as such, they may freely choose to turn upon their ex-partner. In the event of a Master's demise, a Servant may choose to bind him or herself to another Master; if a Servant is slain, a Master may ally with a wayward Servant or pursue sanctuary with the Holy Grail War's impartial supervisor, who is traditionally a delegate in a Roman Catholic Church.

1 evening after school, Shiro stumbles upon two Servants, Archer and Lancer battling in the school courtyard. To avoid compromising the war's secrecy, Lancer hunts down and pierces Shiro's heart with his spear. For an unknown reason, Shiro's classmate, Rin Tosaka (also the Master of Archer) uses an heirloom filled with concentrated magic called ‘mana’ to resuscitate him but he was assaulted then second time by Lancer at his house. While Shiro was cornered and prepares for the worst, he accidentally summoned his Servant, a young woman outfitted in alabaster armor that blocked Lancer's spear. After driving Lancer away from Shiro, she introduces herself as Saber, the most outstanding servant and greets him with the words: “I ask you, are you my Master?” And the Battle Royale begins…

Throughout the story, it was very exciting and at the end of the story, it was very touching and sad…

It worth to watch and I highly recommend this animation to you guys to watch.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, in japanese Toki o kakeru Shojo (時をかける少女), in chinese 穿越时空的少女 or 跳跃吧！时空少女 was released in 2006 and was directored by Mamoru Hosoda (细田守).

This anime was base on a sci-fiction novel published in 1965. It had been directed into movies and dramas. This anime movie had won few awards such as…

1) Gertie Award for the best animated feature film at the 39th Sitges International Film Festival of Catalonia.
2) Animation Grand Award, given to the year's most entertaining animated film, at the prestigious 61st Annual Mainichi Film Award.
3) Awarded the 1st annual Animation of the Year Prize at the 30th Japan Academy Prize.
4) Nominated for the 27th Nihon SF Taisho Award.
5) Award the Grand Prize in the animation division at the 2006 Japan Media Arts Festival.
6) It was recognized as "Animation of the Year" at the 6th annual Tokyo International Anime Fair in 2007 and won several awards.
7) It won the Special Distinction for Feature Film at France's 31st Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2007.

The story was talking about a 17 years old teenage girl named Makoto Konno who accidentally gets hold of a time device that could send her back in time. She uses it recklessly to get rid of her problems prevent undesirable situations from happening in her life. But things begin to turn bad as she later realized that her actions had adversely effect on people around her. One terrible incident was that she had causes her best friend Kosuke Tsuda and his girlfriend died in an accident that was originally Makoto involved in, and this time Chiaki Mamiya appeared and revealed that he is a traveler from the future in-order to see a restored painting that Makoto aunts had restored that was destroyed in the future. But the consequences of revealing the secret had him uses his last time-leap, therefore Chiaki was unable to return to his own world and will disappeared in the current world. Then, Makoto realized that she loves Chiaki and she uses her last time-leap back to the time when she first found the device and looked for Chiaki which he still had his last time-leap. And before Chiaki return back to his world, he told Makoto that he will wait for her there…

I would highly recommend this anime movie, so why wait?

Remember that at the basement of Liang Court, there is a japanese supermart called MEIDI-YA Maga-supermart which sells almost all types of japanese food and groceries.

Not to forget, there are also quite a few japanese restaurants which are not bad.

Lots of japanese who lived in Singapore will go there to buy their daily stuffs and this pic was taken from my handphone at the bank of the singapore river in-front of Liang Court.

Crown-Tail Betta

This is my Crown-Tail Betta, generally also known as Siamese-Fighting fish but of newer type breed.

Although this Crown-Tail considered as of lower grade but to me, it is still very attractive especially the crimson red with slightly combat blue and green on the fins. Not to forget the spoon head shape...

Currently I have 2 females, one is Crown-Tail (purple) and the other is Double-Tail (slightly white-blue). At the moment, I will try to cross-breed them, hoping it will succeed as this is my first time breeding bettas.

Meaning of Murasame

As I know of, Murasame often translated as “passing shower” or “autumn rains”, as it referring to a type of rains that falls hard and yet gently.

Murasame was named after a legendary katana that was crafted in Japan by the person named Murasame during the medieval period of Japan. It also conveys the meaning of been able to cut through anything that passes its way even a rain drop.

Although some people feels that this katana symbolizes evil, destructive and bloodthirsty, but it also symbolizes the sharpness of the blade as it was well-known that this master piece of blade will not leaves any blood stain on it.

A Beautiful Mind

I remembered of watching the movie “A Beautiful Mind” directed by Ron Howard many years back then in my poly days…

And yesterday, I had just watched the movie for the third times on Channel 5. But this time, I had a totally different experience for the movie as compared the previous 2 times I had watched.

As recently years, I had gained certain knowledge of abnormal psychology. I can slightly understand the feelings of what a schizophrenic is experiencing as I had some knowledge of this disorder. It’s a very pity feeling for those who suffered from this disorder.

About this movie, John Nash (Russell Crowe) was a mathematician prodigy who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia while he was at Princeton University and later he married his wife Alicia (Jennifer Connelly). With the help of his wife, eventually his schizophrenic was under controlled but it was not cured. In his later life, he was honored by his fellow professors for his achievements in mathematics and had won him the Nobel Memorial Prize for Economics.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that the person who suffered from this disorder will be experiencing distorted perception of reality, hallucination, illusion and delusion. Causes of this disorder are due to genetic, social, psychological, so called bio-psychosocial.

Although there is no cure for schizophrenia, but it can be controlled with treatments such as medications, psychological and social interventions. Anti-psychotic drug, psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) are common treatments for schizophrenia and general mental disorder.

Those people without the knowledge normally are not understandable towards people suffered from mental disorder and therefore, may treat them harshly or even delayed them from treatments as generally they may not know that it is an mental illness while dealing with them and feeling frustrated. I just hope that people without abnormal psychology knowledge be more understandable towards these people and help them seeking for proper treatments or seek for professional help.
